My work can be seen, live by appointment at my Manhattan studio. I'm reachable at rheasanders1@att.net. some is also viewable at http://www.eyeonart.com, an online gallery.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT: My studio has wonderfully dramatic views of the New York skyline. I love looking out at the small details, such as the kite caught in a tree between two penthouses 15 floors above the street.
From my window during a temporary stay at St. Vincent's Hospital in downtown Manhattan, I saw the Empire State Building in the distance, and painted it along with some daisies potted on a nearby window sill.
Flowers -- everyone loves flowers, cerrtainly I do, and I did a series of them.
I enjoy doing still lifes in different mediums.
Question: Why do I so often use a circle within a square?
I guess the only answer to that is: I think it looks really interesting.
